chocolala chocolates… posted by royal appointment?

I’ve just been in London… to visit the Queen.

Acutally, that’s not quite true. I was down in London for a meeting of a Quaker committee that I’m on, and also decided to visit my folks and see a friend of two. However, I did travel along Buckingham Palace Road which is a bit like going to see the Queen.

On Sunday night I stayed with my friend Elisabeth. She’s not the Queen, but she is slightly odd and very fantastic. Elisabeth’s also Swiss, so obviously knows a thing or two about chocolate, and she prefers chocolala chocs to any of the Swiss stuff. In fact, Elisabeth’s even been known to take our chocolates with her on visits to Switzerland!

Being Swiss, she’s also completely neutral and not at all prone to bias. So it’s official. Chocolala, better than Swiss chocolates.

The photo is of some chocs I knocked up for Elisabeth’s birthday. They're our light pralines, which are Elisabeth’s favorites. This is slightly odd as over the 25 years I’ve known her she’s always insisted that she prefers dark chocolate. I guess it just shows the power of the praline…

Finally, I don’t think I could be described as a royalist (…though I sometimes wonder if the Queen is a less worrying option than who we might elect to be a head of state). However, I’m trying to be a bit more pragmatic in my life, so if the call comes I’m sure I could knock up a splendid tin of chocs with a rather natty EIIR inscribed into them and pop them in the post. Just let me know.

After just evangelising the power of the Chocolala praline to someone I have complete sympathy for Elizabeth. I think a few bunged over the fence to the other Lizzie would be a fine gift (and the pictures of you in action would be a treat too!)
