  1. 2008. May you revel in the gorgeous gift of chocolate… and may the post bring delicious Valentine, Mothers’ day, Easter, Birthday and Ramdom delights to brighten the World

Well, it’s New Year’s eve and the air here is thick with chocolate related reminiscence and resolution.

We’ve had a good year at chocolala; exciting and scary in equal measure, but leaving us pretty optimistic for the year to come. We couldn’t have got this far without the kindness, words of wisdom, help in spreading the chocolala word and, of course, the custom we’ve received over the last 12 months.

Many thanks to all of you for your generous support. May it continue into the new year and beyond.

Looking forward, it’s all getting pretty exciting already (…hmm exciting? or dauntingly scary?). We reckon that the next few months is going to be rather busy.

    • There’s Valentines Day on the 14th of Feb
    • speedily followed by Mother’s Day on march 2nd
    • and, before you know it, Easter on the 23rd March

    (*gulp*).

We’ve been working on some ideas to create special chocolate gorgeousness for each of these occasions. We’ll be unveiling them to the world over the next couple of weeks and you should be able to order them all from our online shop pretty soon.

If you haven’t done so already, do sign up for our newsletter. That way you’ll get to hear about all of our new goodies as soon as they’re ready to go.

Our other chocolala project for the front end of 2008, is to try to find some appropriate hotels, restaurants or other businesses who might be up for using our chocolates on a regular basis… you know the kind of thing: a tiny box on your pillow when you check in, or served with coffee after dinner… a small, but sublime treat.

So, if you’re the person that makes those kinds of decisions in an organisation (…or if you wield influence over someone who does), do get in touch with us.

    RESOLVE

After many years of dutiful service, our old digital* camera has finally gone to be reunited with that memory stick in the sky. Having had it for many years and always thinking that it took slightly rubbish photos, last year I finally read the instruction manual… miraculously the quality of the photographs improved.

The new camera (which I will endeavour not to drop into a vat of chocolate… oops) also seems to take rather poor photos…

    Resolution 1: TAKE INSTRUCTION!

Resolution 2: TAKE CARE NOT TO DROP CAMERA (esp into chocolate).

You may have also noticed how fickle and hopeless my attempts at blogging have been. This is particularly sad as there have been loads of (slightly) interesting things to tell you. So,

    Resolution 3: BLOG MORE

Unfortunately this will probably result in the blogging equivalent of waiting for a No. 10 bus, so expect several postings all at once and then a return to the long and barren wait!

Well I’d better get this posted before January. Best wishes to all for you for the New Year (or, for the more Bah Humbug amongst us, all the best at the start of an arbitrary and meaningless time period)

    * talking of things digital, I serve on a Quaker committee and at our last meeting I was told a joke that really made me laugh. Here it is…

There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don’t.

If you’re looking at quizzically at the screen waiting for the punchline, don’t worry. It just means that you weren’t one of the sad people who got a thrill from understanding things like slide rules and trigonometry at school. Nxx
