OK, so you're still waiting for the surge of blogging… but I’ve been busy over the last couple of days, in part making a 40th birthday cake for my friend Ben.

I hoped to get the cake finished yesterday, but it’s been too warm and I spent a couple of hours failing to make chocolate curls successfully. So it was a case of getting up early and doing them in the cool of the morning. This is the result, from the front

now it’s the washing up to do, and scrubbing the floor, and generally clearing up. And then, who knows, I might be able to catch up on telling you all those interesting things that have happened over the last few months…
