It’s Fathers Day on Sunday. If you're wanting to send some chocolala chocs, get your order in ASAP.
Does anyone else struggle with where to put the apostrophe in… errr… the day for fathers? Is it before the s, because it’s one’s father (singular in most cases), or after the s, because it’s fathers in general (i.e. plural)
or should we start calling it Fathering Sunday?
or do as my diary* does, and have no apostrophe at all?!
*I have taken the line that WHSmiths will know better than me, and gone for leaving it out, but it doesn’t feel entirely right… If you have anything authoritative, illuminating, interesting or dull to say on this matter, do post a comment…
